Drug investigation results in large seizure of marijuana, cash

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Narcotics Division of the  Washington County Sheriff’s Office was involved with a multiple agency drug investigation that ended in with an arrest in Castleton, Vermont.

The investigation involved members of the Vermont Southern Drug Task Force, members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division, members from the New York State Police, Troop G, Greenwich barracks and the Castleton Vermont Police Department.   

On February 6, 2017 at approximately 7:40 pm, Theodore T. Gray, 29, of South Street in Castleton, Vermont was arrested in Castleton, Vermont after a controlled buy resulted in the sale of approximately 1 pound of marijuana.

A subsequent search warrant of Gray’s residence resulted in the seizure of approximately 100 lbs. of vacuumed sealed packaged marijuana with a retail street value of approximately $300,000 and approximately $113,000 in cash with evidence of distribution and sales. 

Gray was lodged at the Marble Valley Community Correctional Center in Rutland City with bail set at $10,000 to appear at the Rutland County Superior Court in Rutland City on February 7, 2017.
