According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on Friday June 2, 2017 the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Stephen P. Barrant, 40, of Lake Luzerne, New York.
Barrant was arrested based on a Grand Jury Indictment charging Barrant with burglary in the 3rd degree, a class D felony, grand larceny in the 3rd degree, a class D felony and criminal mischief in the 3rd degree, a class E Felony.
In April of 2016, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to investigate a commercial burglary at the Antique Store in the Town of Fort Ann. Barrant is accused of forcing entry into the Antique Store in and stealing numerous items from the business.
Barrant was produced by the State Department of Corrections and was arrested and processed at the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward.
He was then arraigned in Washington County Court on the above listed charges. The case was handled by members of the Washington County Sheriff’s Office with assistance from the Saratoga County Sheriff’s Office.
