According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, Deputies stopped a 2005 Ford pick-up truck operated by Stephen P. Hannon on State Rt. 313 in the Town of Jackson for swerving out of the traveling lane several times.

Upon speaking with Hannon, deputies could smell a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Hannon failed several field sobriety tests and was arrested. He was also found to have a suspended New York driver’s license. Hannon was processed at the Salem sub-station and tested a .14% blood alcohol content.
