According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, after a joint-investigation lasting several months, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Enforcement Unit and the Hudson Falls Police Department executed a search warrant at the apartment of Micheal J. Hermance located at 48 ½ John Street in the Village of Hudson Falls during the early morning hours of October 20, 2017. As a result of the investigation and subsequent search warrant, four occupants in the apartment were arrested . Michael J Hermance was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony and criminal nuisance in the first degree, a class E felony. Anthony Barkim Torres was charged with criminal sale of a controlled substance in the 3rd degree, a class B felony. Heather M Bills was charged with loitering in the 1st degree, a class B misdemeanor. Kimberly A Baker was charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance in the 7th Degree, a class A misdemeanor, loitering in the 1st degree, a class B misdemeanor and criminally using drug paraphernalia in the 2nd degree, a class A misdemeanor.
All four subjects were transported to the Law Enforcement Center in Fort Edward and were processed. Baker was released on an appearance ticket. Bills was arraigned and ROR’d. Hermance was arraigned and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of $1500.00 cash bail or $2500.00 bond. Torres was arraigned and remanded to the Washington County Correctional Facility in lieu of $50,000.00 cash bail or $100,000.00 bond. Additional charges are pending and the case will be forwarded to the Washington County District Attorneys Office for review and possible action of the Grand Jury.
