According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on January 27, 2018 at about 10:15 PM, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a disturbance call on Mattison Road in the Town of Fort Ann. A female called 911 reporting she was physically assaulted by her brother’s girlfriend.
When deputies arrived on scene, they found the 911 caller’s brother and suspect had fled in a vehicle to avoid contact with law enforcement. The female victim told deputies she was violently attacked over a dispute of a dog. The female victim suffered head and facial injuries and was transported to the Glens Falls Hospital by Fort Ann Rescue Squad.
The following evening, deputies located Tanna K. Cole, 24, and arrested her for assault in the 3rd degree and endangering the welfare of a child. The endangering the welfare of a child charge was filed because the victim’s children were present during the assault.
Cole was released on her own recognizance after being arraigned at central arraignment court. A temporary order of protection was issued to the female victim.
