Man dies in Greenwich snowmobile accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on February 18, 2018 at 1:33 A.M.,  the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to Lowber Road in the Town of Greenwich for a reported snowmobile accident.  The accident was reported as involving one snowmobile which was being operated on private property.

Upon arriving, deputies located a snowmobile into a tree with one victim that had been ejected. The victim was identified as Brandon M. Brown, 30, of Lick Springs Road in Greenwich. He was pronounced deceased at the scene by the Washington County Coroner. It appears that Brown was not wearing a helmet and excessive speed appears to be a preliminary factor in the crash. The incident remains under investigation.
