Hudson Falls man killed in Fort Edward accident

According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, on May 6, 2019, at 6:52 A.M., the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a motor vehicle collision involving a single vehicle and one occupant. The investigation indicated that a 2016 Chevrolet truck was traveling southbound on Burgoyne Avenue in the Town of Fort Edward. The truck traveled off the road and struck a tree. The operator was pronounced dead at the scene by the Washington County Coroner. The operator has been identified as Andrew J. Willig, 52, of Hudson Falls, NY. The circumstances attributed to the cause of the crash are still under investigation.
