Sheriff's Office investigating theft of cows


According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a report of seven (7) cows stolen from a farm location in the Town of Argyle. Officers responded to Sweet Road on Sunday for the report. A farmer is leasing the property and farm area to house his own animals, as well as allowing other animals to be housed at that location.

On Sunday, July 29 the farmer noticed multiple cows missing. After further inspection, a total of seven cows were noted as missing. One of the cows missing is described as a show cow named “Roxy” and reportedly worth $30,000. The cows consist of different breeds including Holstein, Guernsey, and Jersey Cows.
