Greenwich man charged under Leandra's Law

INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office arrested Casey J. Lebarron, age 39, for Aggravated DWI (Leandra’s Law) and Aggravated Unlicensed Operation 1st, both a class E Felony. Misdemeanor counts of Driving While Intoxicated, Endangering the Welfare of a Child, and multiple traffic violations. 

Patrols responded to Mountain Rd in the Town of Easton for a report of a male subject asleep in a vehicle in the middle of the roadway. Upon arrival, patrols observed a green Chevrolet Silverado stopped in the middle of the road, running, with the lights on. Patrols made contact with Casey J. Lebarron who was asleep in the driver seat of the vehicle and with a child who was also asleep in the vehicle. Upon interviewing Lebarron patrols detected an odor of an alcoholic beverage and observed further signs of impairment. Lebarron was administered field sobriety tests roadside and taken into custody for driving while intoxicated. 

The child was turned over to a relative and Lebarron was transported to the Law Enforcement Center where he refused a breath test. Lebarron was released and set to appear in the Town of Easton Court at a later date.
