Gansevoort man injured in Fort Edward motorcycle accident

INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to State Route 197 near Plum Road in the Town of Fort Edward for a report of a motorcycle accident with injury.

Deputies arrived on scene and determined that a 2020 Yahama motorcycle operated by Lucas T. Brockway, 20, of Baker Road in Gansevoort was westbound on State Route 197 when he lost control of his motorcycle. Witnesses reported to deputies that Brockway was thrown from the motorcycle, skidded along the roadway before striking  a power pole and coming to rest off the roadway.

Brockway was transported by EMS to a landing zone before being airlifted to the Albany Medical Center with neck, back and chest injuries. At this time, drug or alcohol impairment is not believed to be a factor however the accident remains under investigation.
